I get cut across the chest and I shoot it once, before clutching my chest in pain, as it moves close, an unknown girl jumps out and throws a bucket of water on the creature.

In the middle of a small clearing is what appears to be a large well, covered over by rusted steel doors and a metal frame. The trees around the area seem to have been removed to make room for it.

The large doors are labled 'Emergency' in bold red letters, but are mostly faded. they are bound by chains that break easily when you pull on them. inside is a wide tunnel heading straight down with a steel ladder on one side.

I look at it "Well, I don't see anyone objecting" I humor myself, even though I'm actually quite nervous, I look around for a flashlight or light source of some sort

There is none. However, you can feel a slight heat coming from the tunnel.

As you reach the bottom, you find yourself standing on a large concrete platform in a large tunnel. There are calbes and wires all over the ceiling, and rails on the ground heading down the tunnel. There is a panel with several buttons built into the wall on the right.
