Welcome, students to the Jedi Academy. Here you will learn to use a lightsaber, learn to use the Force, and various other subjects. Now this will be just like a boarding school. You may add more info if you want. That is just a basic example. And if you want to know, the Academy is on Corucant, about 1,000 years before Episode 1. Therefore, your character CAN be the ancestors of beloved Star Wars characters. You can pick any color you want for your lightsaber (except for black. Use your heads, people!). RED IS NOT OFF LIMITS. You can also chose to wield a Single Blade lightsaber, two lightsabers, or a Double Blade. I'll post more info when I have it.
