the school i went to is damn lucky i wasn't more unstable than i was already or one of those incidents might have happened way before columbine happened. this was in the early to mid 90's. i was tormented CONSTANTLY by other kids, busdrivers, teachers and all...they all denied that anything was happening and told my parents i was mentally unstable. my parents knew i wasn't, but there was nothing they could do. it was my word against the entire school system. so i ended up having to drop out a year early because i was getting into a violent state of mind from it.
which is why i have such a problem with bullies now. Razz

how much more do we as young youth, have to do in order to see a change in our daily lives at school?
do they think its ohkay that we wake up, not wanting to..?
dreding to take a step in those hallways?
do they think thisll all pass by?
that its normal?
that this is just the way our peers act towards us.
how much more of a fucking sign does this world need?

I think there was something seriously wrong with my bully. She was just one of those malicious girls who would pretend to be your friend one minute and then try to break you. It's not like she was a popular girl and had her own clique or whatever, she was generally feared by a few others, and she always caused problems for the teachers. Me, being the person I was at that time, just went along with it because in general, I was just someone who strived to get along with everyone. There were good days and bad days. She generally only acted out to get attention, meaning she was mostly all bark and no bite, hence why, when one day she told one of my close friends that she was going to beat me up, nothing came of it. Either way, I put up with her shit for about 4 years. Once I got into middle school, it pretty much stopped because I no longer had any classes with her.

She moved after middle school, and I found out from a friend who lived down the street from her and one of her former close friends that my bully actually physically abused her younger siblings and her mom. Her parents divorced so perhaps she just had a lot of pent up rage about it? I have no idea. I often still feel a bit bitter about not really standing up for myself back then, but I suppose that's what's made me the bitch I am today. Hazoo! XP

What sucks is that nothing was even really being done about bullies until it became a nation-wide media event with the columbine shootings. People were just suffering in silence. Then they thought, "Oh! Now we need to stuff these schools full of special counselors who can only ramble off sweet words and lies which won't really stop the bullies from tormenting others, but we'll at least look like we're trying!"

as messed up as that sounds...i have to agree as well. those that never had to go through that torture don't know what the hell it feels like. the ones designated to "help" the kids are the ones that have no clue what it feels like. who are they to judge the victims?

They want more innocent people to die? That's a bit much. That's more along the lines of bully thinking. The message will only get out if enough voices are heard. However, it's a catch 22 in that speaking up only seems to equal even more bullying because you look like a "tattle-tale" if you do.
