I like rock. And some of that stuff my mom made me listen to when I was growing up. Like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Hootie and the Blowfish, Ace of Base, Fleetwood Mac (mom has a TON of Fleetwood Mac CD's) Madonna, Elton John... ooooh yes, lots and lots of Elton John.

my bro & sis are in to heavy metal so I 'ave to put up wiv alota that, some of it's not bad but some of it I wouldn't class as music, just as noise

Agreed. Heavy metal just sounds like a buncha screaming and toilets flushing. I'm currently addicted to the Goo Goo Dolls, but I'm trying to listen more to Counting Crows since someone seems to love 'em to bits.
